The XMS2-W0150ANN-02AETM5NNNN-S06RSN2NNNN5NN is a power section produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XMS2 ctrlX Drives series. As part of this modular platform, the unit pairs with a dedicated control section to regulate synchronous or asynchronous motors in automated machinery. It provides closed-loop speed and torque control for one motor axis, supporting motion functions in packaging lines, material-handling cells, and general factory automation. The modular arrangement separates motor power conversion from control processing, allowing the two sections to perform their respective functions within the drive system.
The power section is a single-axis module that controls one mechanical shaft. Network integration is provided by Multi-Ethernet hardware, while EtherCAT (SoE) communication supports real-time setpoint and status exchange with a compatible controller. The device uses internal air cooling, which draws cabinet air across the heat sink without requiring external cooling ducts. Its ctrlX DRIVE plus control section provides expanded parameter capacity, and a front-mounted control panel allows direct access to operating information and adjustments. The motor side is supplied without a connector set, allowing wiring components to be selected for the machine installation. Cabinet airflow must remain unobstructed so heat can leave the power electronics during continuous operation.
Functional safety is provided through the SafeMotion feature set, which supports certified shutdown and motion-monitoring functions when used with compatible feedback devices. The module operates as an inverter, converting energy from the shared DC bus into a regulated three-phase output for the connected motor. It can also return regenerative energy to the common bus when the motor decelerates, allowing that energy to be used elsewhere in the drive system or managed by the associated supply equipment. As a second-generation device, the power section uses the updated mechanical dimensions and diagnostic structure of the newer ctrlX platform. The housing provides IP20 protection and a 750 V DC bus rating, making the terminals touch-safe and suitable for installation in a protected control cabinet. The enclosure must remain inside an appropriate cabinet because IP20 protection does not guard against water or fine airborne contaminants.
