Product Description:
The XMS2-W0054ANN-01NETT0NNNN-S03RSN1NNNN0NN single-axis inverter is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the XMS2 ctrlX Drives series. It belongs to the ctrlX DRIVE product group and interfaces with the controller through Multi-Ethernet using the Sercos III protocol for deterministic motion control. The unit converts power from a shared DC bus into a variable three-phase output, providing scalable servo power for decentralized automation modules while occupying a frame width of 75 mm.
The power section operates from a nominal DC bus of 750 V, and the inverter can deliver a continuous motor phase current of 27 A while accepting duty peaks up to 54 A. If the bus voltage rises, an internal monitor disconnects the drive at 900 V to protect the semiconductors. An energy-storing link with a capacitance of 1.7 mF smooths the incoming supply, and the shared line connector is rated for 120 A to match the cabinet distribution bars. During startup, the capacitor bank draws no more than 4 A for 20 ms, limiting stress on fuses and contactors. The inverter supports tightly controlled torque loops for one mechanical axis without an external braking chopper.
Heat produced by the power electronics is handled by internal air cooling, and the assembly dissipates 226 W at full load into the control cabinet airflow. Pulse-width modulation can be set to 4, 8, 12, or 16 kHz to balance acoustic noise and efficiency. Functional safety is integrated through the Safe Torque Off circuit, eliminating separate relay wiring when motor shutdown is required. The IP20 enclosure is 196.5 mm deep, allowing rail mounting behind narrow cabinet doors. The unit has no control panel or motor connector set, and configuration is performed through the ctrlX DRIVE software over Ethernet. This second-generation module uses the ctrlX DRIVE control section without additional power-section options.
