The XMS2-W0054ANN-01AETT0ECNN-S06RSN5NNNN0NN is a power section produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XMS2 ctrlX Drives series. As a second-generation inverter module, it converts energy from a common DC bus into a pulse-width-modulated output that drives a single motor in packaging lines, assembly stations, and material-handling cells. By integrating into the ctrlX DRIVE platform, the unit shares diagnostics, parameter sets, and safety architecture with companion axes.
The unit is configured as a single-axis inverter, so one power module feeds one motor. Communication between modules is handled through a Multi-Ethernet backplane, and the module exchanges cyclic data over EtherNet/IP when that protocol is enabled. The internal DC link is rated at 750 V, and the inverter can supply 54 A of output current at a 4 kHz carrier frequency. Thermal modeling indicates a power loss of 226 W under full load, while the housing has an IP20 rating for installation inside a ventilated cabinet. A frame width of 75 mm leaves space on DIN rails for filters and additional drives. The DC-bus connection supports 120 A of current for parallel braking energy flow.
Cooling is provided by an internal fan that moves 129 m³/h of air through the heat sink, with chimney slots in the top cover supporting airflow. A Safe Torque Off circuit prevents the inverter from producing motor torque when the safety function is active. The multi-encoder interface accepts high-resolution feedback, and the insulation resistance between power and ground is 1 MΩ. Ground capacitance is limited to 2 × 100 nF to minimize leakage current through the protective earth conductor. The housing measures 309 mm in height and 196.5 mm in depth, and the unit weighs 4.25 kg. The front control panel provides local access to parameters. The power section is supplied without a motor connector set, allowing cable hardware to be selected for the installation.
