Designed for second-generation ctrlX DRIVE cabinets, it conditions DC bus energy and modulates output current so servo or induction motors follow velocity and torque commands over Multi-Ethernet networks such as PROFINET IO. By combining power electronics with integrated safety, the unit streamlines axis control in packaging lines, handling systems, and general factory automation.
The power stage can deliver a continuous phase current of 7.7 A at 4 kHz switching frequency and reach a short-term maximum of 23 A during rapid acceleration events. These currents are sourced from a DC link regulated around 750 V, which supports high power density while helping keep cable losses low. To remove the heat generated under this load, the internal blower moves 36 m³/h of cooling air through dedicated channels and helps prevent thermal derating in densely packed control enclosures.
Energy storage on the control side is supported by a capacitance of 1.7 mF, which helps limit voltage dip during network disturbances.
