The XCS2-W0180ABN-02NETM5NNNN-S04RSN2NNNN5NN is a single-axis converter designed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Classified as a Generation 2 ctrlX DRIVE module, it supplies regulated power to a connected motor while integrating the safety and diagnostic logic needed for automated machinery. The device is installed between the plant mains and the motor to manage acceleration, braking, and standby conditions in assembly cells, packaging lines, and material-handling stations. Multi-Ethernet connectivity links the converter to higher-level controllers, allowing motion commands and status feedback to travel across common industrial networks without additional gateways.
The power stage accepts a three-phase input of 3 × AC 200–500 V (+10%/-15%) and can deliver up to 180 A of output current for demanding servo axes. Component temperatures are kept within operating limits by internal air cooling. The open-style housing has an IP20 protection rating and is intended for installation inside a switch cabinet. Command processing runs on the ctrlX DRIVEplus hardware platform, while real-time motion data are exchanged through EtherCAT (SoE). The integrated safety layer supports SafeMotion Position functions, allowing the drive to perform safe position monitoring along with limited-speed and stop functions. Its SafeMotion (M5) certification supports drive-based safety processing without relying entirely on external relays. Motion control runs in the DRIVE Runtime environment, and the XCS2 control software is identified as Version 04. Runtime options use the standard configuration, allowing the converter to operate within a ctrlX automation system without preinstalled technology function applications. Export licensing is unnecessary because the maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz.
