The XCS2-W0180ABN-02NETM5ECNN-S05RSN1NNNN3NN is a single-axis converter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. As a Generation 2 ctrlX DRIVE device, it forms the power interface between the electrical supply and a connected motor. The converter regulates motor speed and torque through closed-loop control, allowing an automated axis to respond accurately to changing commands and loads. It is suitable for motion applications in packaging systems, material-handling equipment, and light machining installations.
The converter accepts a three-phase supply of AC 200 to 500 V (+10%/-15%) and can deliver up to 180 A of output current to the motor. Internal circulation fans provide air cooling for the power electronics during operation. The housing has an IP20 rating and is intended for installation inside a protected control cabinet. Network access is provided through Multi-Ethernet hardware, allowing the converter to use EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and other supported communication stacks without an additional network card. The unit is supplied without a motor connector set or operator panel. Its maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so an export license is not required based on that frequency threshold. Hardware option 2 provides a multi-encoder interface for connecting compatible motor feedback devices.
Axis control runs on ctrlX DRIVEplus hardware, which processes motion commands and motor feedback within the converter. Cyclic communication with the machine controller uses the SERCOS III protocol for synchronized command and status exchange. Integrated safety is provided by the SafeMotion Speed package, while the M5 SafeMotion function provides certified overspeed protection. These safety functions monitor axis movement and can respond when configured speed limits are exceeded. An internal braking transistor directs regenerated DC-link energy to an external braking resistor during rapid deceleration. The power plug-in section includes the connection required for that external resistor. The converter operates with the Standard runtime environment and the DRIVE Runtime functional scope. No technology function app is preinstalled, leaving the available application resources open for selected control apps.
