Product Description:
The XCS2-W0180ABN-01NETT0ECNN-S03RSN2NNNN0NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter in the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Installed inside a drive cabinet, it combines power electronics and motion control to regulate the speed and torque of a compatible motor on production machinery. The converter is part of the ctrlX DRIVE platform and communicates with higher-level controllers to provide precise axis control. Its capabilities support conveyor, material-handling, and packaging applications that require coordinated motion and repeatable performance.
The converter accepts an input of three-phase AC 200–500 V (+10%/-15%), allowing it to operate on common 230 V and 480 V industrial power systems. It can deliver up to 180 A of motor current for medium-size motors and high-inertia axes. Heat is removed through internal air cooling, which requires suitable airflow through the drive cabinet. The open housing has an IP20 protection rating, so the unit must be installed inside a closed panel that prevents access to live parts and protects it from unsuitable contaminants. Communication is handled through a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports multiple industrial communication protocols without requiring a different communication module. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so the converter does not require an export license based on its output-frequency classification.
The power section includes an integrated braking transistor that directs regenerated energy to an external braking resistor during motor deceleration. Hardware option 1 provides SafeMotion functions, including Safe Torque Off (STO), which prevents the drive from producing motor torque without requiring the mains contactor to open. Motor feedback is received through a multi-encoder interface, allowing the converter to work with several compatible encoder types. Fieldbus communication can use EtherCAT (SoE) when that protocol is required by the control system. Logic runs in the Standard runtime environment with the DRIVE Runtime scope, and the unit uses Version 03 for the XCS2 generation. The converter is supplied without an operating panel or motor connector set, and hardware option 3 is not installed. Its application scope centers on standard axis-control functions rather than additional technology-function applications.
