Product Description:
The XCS2-W0120ABN-02AETM5ECNN-S04RSN1NNNP3NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Installed within the ctrlX DRIVE platform, it connects a three-phase mains supply to a servo or induction motor. The converter generates the variable voltage and frequency required for closed-loop speed, torque, and position control in automated assembly stations, handling modules, and process equipment. Integrated motion and safety functions allow the unit to perform drive-level control tasks within an enclosed electrical cabinet.
The core electronics use the ctrlX DRIVEplus platform, providing expanded computing resources for Generation 2 functions. A Multi-Ethernet interface permits direct integration with EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and other IP-based control networks. The power section accepts a supply of 3 × AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15% and delivers up to 120 A to the connected motor. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so the converter must be installed inside a closed cabinet that prevents contact with internal electrical components. An integrated fan circulates air through the unit to remove heat from the power electronics during operation. A multi-encoder interface supports compatible position-feedback devices, allowing the drive to receive the motor data required for closed-loop control. The fitted front panel provides local access to operating information and diagnostic functions.
The converter supports Sercos III for deterministic communication and synchronized motion-data exchange with a higher-level controller. A built-in braking transistor manages regenerated energy during rapid deceleration by controlling its transfer to a suitable braking resistor. Integrated SafeMotion (M5) provides the SafeMotion Speed function subset without requiring external safety relays for those supported functions. The installed software is Version 04 (XCS2) and supports the Standard runtime environment with the DRIVE Runtime Productivity scope. Export licensing is not required because the maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz. The runtime environment can be upgraded in the field when a compatible software release is available. This capability allows supported drive functions to be updated without replacing the converter hardware.
