This single-axis converter uses ctrlX DRIVE hardware and supports Multi-Ethernet communication with EtherCAT protocol. It has a maximum current of 120 Amps, operates with an input voltage of 3-phase AC 200 to 500 Volts, and features an IP20 degree of protection. The device provides Safe Torque Off (STO) as its safety function and includes a braking transistor in the power section.
Internal Product Review
The XCS2-W0120ABN-01AETT0NNNN-S04RSN2NNNN0NN is a Bosch Rexroth ctrlX DRIVE Generation 2 single-axis converter with a very clean control architecture. Multi-Ethernet communication and EtherCAT (SoE) support make integration straightforward in modern servo platforms. A 3 x AC 200 to 500 V input range and 120 A maximum current give the converter strong application coverage.

Product Description:
The XCS2-W0120ABN-01AETT0NNNN-S04RSN2NNNN0NN is a single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Supplied as a Generation 2 controller, it conditions three-phase mains power and executes axis commands for synchronous or induction motors. The converter is intended for controlled motion in modular production lines, assembly cells, and other automated machinery. Its single-axis design combines the power stage, motion control functions, and network interfaces in one cabinet-mounted unit.
The converter accepts a supply of 3 × AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15% and delivers up to 120 A to the connected motor. Internal air cooling moves heat through the housing during operation. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which provides protection against contact with larger solid objects while requiring installation inside a suitable control cabinet. A front panel is factory-mounted for access to the converter controls and connections. The motor connector set is not included, allowing compatible field wiring hardware to be selected for the installation. Communication is supported through Multi-Ethernet interfaces, while deterministic motion data is transmitted over the drive bus through EtherCAT with Servo Drive Profile over EtherCAT. A braking transistor is integrated into the power section to manage regenerated energy during motor deceleration.
SafeMotion is included through hardware option 1 and provides Safe Torque Off (STO). This function prevents the motor from producing torque without requiring the converter’s mains supply to be disconnected. The runtime stack uses DRIVE Runtime in the standard operating environment. The software is issued as the current release under Version 04 for the XCS2 platform. Output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so the converter does not require an export license based on its frequency range. Application technology apps are not preinstalled, leaving the controller ready for the functions selected for the intended machine. The active braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy during controlled stopping, while the integrated SafeMotion capability provides the available safety functions without an additional license.
