The XCS2-W0070ARN-02AX3T0ECET-S04RSN0NNNN0NN single-axis converter is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis CtrlX Converters series. Classified as a ctrlX DRIVE Generation 2 unit, it connects a three-phase mains supply to a motor and performs current, speed, and position control through its ctrlX DRIVEplus electronics. An included panel provides local access to operating parameters and diagnostic information. The motor connector set is omitted, so suitable field cabling and connectors must be supplied separately for the application.
The power stage has an IP20 protection rating, making it suitable for installation inside a closed control cabinet. It accepts a line supply of 3 x AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15%, accommodating a broad range of industrial power systems. The converter supplies up to 70 A of output current to the connected motor phases. Thermal losses are removed through internal air cooling, so the enclosure must provide sufficient airflow around the unit. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor dissipate regenerated energy during dynamic deceleration without requiring an external brake chopper. Hardware option 2 adds a multi-encoder interface for processing signals from compatible incremental or absolute feedback devices. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, placing the converter outside frequency ranges that require additional export restrictions.
Field networking is managed through ctrlX CORE communication, which supports protocol functions through applications loaded on the platform. Hardware option 3 provides Multi-Ethernet ports for networks such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP without requiring additional communication cards. Hardware option 1 adds SafeMotion functionality, including Safe Torque Off (STO) for preventing torque-producing motor power when the safety function is activated. Drive logic operates in the DRIVE Runtime environment, which provides the standard execution platform for motion and drive-control functions. The installed runtime is Version 04 for the XCS2 platform and uses the Standard profile. Protocol applications can be loaded or updated within the ctrlX CORE platform to suit the selected industrial network.
