The XCS2-W0070ARN-01NETT0NNNN-S03RSN2NNNN0NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter from Bosch Rexroth Indramat that belongs to the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. It modulates three-phase mains power to provide precise motor control within the ctrlX AUTOMATION platform. The converter links drive hardware to higher-level PLCs and motion applications in industrial machinery, allowing coordinated control of torque, speed, and position.
This model uses the ctrlX DRIVE control platform and accepts a supply of 3 × AC 200 to 500 V (+10%/-15%), allowing installation on low- or medium-voltage factory grids without transformer tap changes. The power stage can deliver up to 70 A of output current, making it suitable for medium-frame synchronous or induction motors that require high peak torque during acceleration. Heat produced by the IGBTs is removed through internal air cooling, so cabinet airflow can manage thermal dissipation without a liquid cooling circuit. Dynamic braking is handled by an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, which dissipate regenerated energy locally and simplify panel wiring. Field networking is provided through a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports several real-time industrial communication protocols through the available Ethernet connection.
The standard DRIVE Runtime environment provides the processing platform for drive control functions and motion applications. A protection class of IP20 requires installation inside a closed control cabinet while permitting ventilation through the enclosure. For functional safety, the converter provides Safe Torque Off (STO), which removes torque-producing energy from the motor without requiring mechanical power contactors. Motion commands and diagnostic data pass over EtherCAT (SoE), providing deterministic communication with Rexroth motion controllers while maintaining compatibility with suitable third-party masters. Hardware option 1 adds SafeMotion resources for operating modes that require monitored speed or position limits. The base configuration does not include a local operating panel or motor connector set, allowing the installation to use separately selected controls and cabling.
