Product Description:
The XCS2-W0070ARN-01NETT0ECNN-S04RSN1NNNN0NN is a single-axis power and control converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. This second-generation ctrlX DRIVE module connects the plant AC supply to one servo motor and provides regulated current for precise motion control. It is intended for enclosed cabinet installation in automated machinery, including systems that coordinate several independent axes. Combining power conversion, motion control, network communication, encoder support, and functional safety in one unit reduces the number of separate components required around the controlled axis.
The line-side input accepts three-phase AC from 200 to 500 V with a +10%/-15% tolerance, making the converter suitable for a broad range of industrial supply systems. Its power stage can deliver up to 70 A of motor phase current to the connected servo motor. Heat from the IGBT power stage is removed through internal air cooling, so the cabinet must provide sufficient airflow around the housing. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating and therefore requires installation inside an electrical cabinet that prevents exposure to moisture and unintended contact. Network communication is handled through a Multi-Ethernet interface, which supports selectable real-time industrial Ethernet protocols without requiring a separate communication module. A multi-encoder interface is installed as hardware option 2, allowing the controller to receive compatible motor or external position feedback. The unit is supplied without a front control panel or motor connector set, so those components must be selected separately when required by the installation.
Motion-control tasks operate on the ctrlX DRIVE platform with DRIVE Runtime in a standard operating environment. Regenerated energy is handled by an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, reducing the need for an external braking chopper during motor deceleration. Cyclic command and position data can be exchanged through the Sercos III protocol when that communication mode is selected through the network interface. Functional safety includes Safe Torque Off (STO), which prevents the drive from producing motor torque without disconnecting the main power supply through external contactors. SafeMotion hardware option 1 expands the available safety-related motion functions for applications that require controlled responses to operating conditions. The converter’s base output frequency does not exceed 599 Hz, and application software can be added according to the machine’s control requirements.
