Product Description:
The XCS2-W0054ARN-02AETT0NNEM-S06RSN2NNNN0NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. It acts as a dedicated power module between the plant supply and a connected motor. The converter changes three-phase mains power into a regulated DC link and modulated motor output, allowing motion controllers to operate servo or induction axes with closed-loop precision. This design supports controlled motion in factory automation lines, packaging machines, material-handling systems, and other applications that require accurate torque, speed, or position regulation.
The network layer supports Multi-Ethernet fieldbuses, while a separate channel handles EtherCAT (SoE) telegrams for deterministic command and diagnostic exchange with PLCs. The input section accepts a supply range of 3 × AC 200 to 500 V (+10%/-15%), covering common 230 V and 480 V plant grids without transformer tap changes. The converter provides a maximum output current of 54 A to the connected motor. Control logic runs on the ctrlX DRIVEplus platform, which supports DRIVE Runtime functions and a standard runtime environment. Thermal management relies on internal air cooling, so cabinet air passes through the heat sink without external ducts or liquid cooling circuits. A front panel provides local access to operating information and controls. The motor connector set is supplied separately so the connection hardware can be matched to the selected motor cable system.
The IP20 enclosure is intended for installation inside a ventilated electrical cabinet and protects against accidental finger contact with hazardous internal parts. Adequate cabinet clearance allows cooling air to move through the converter and helps prevent heat from accumulating around adjacent equipment. The power stage includes an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, allowing regenerated energy to be dissipated internally during rapid motor deceleration. Functional safety includes Safe Torque Off (STO), which places the connected axis in a torque-free state without requiring the main power supply to be disconnected. SafeMotion option 1 adds certified motion-monitoring functions when it is activated within the control system. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz.
