Product Description:
The XCS2-W0054ARN-02AETT0NNEM-S05RSN2NNNN0NN is a second-generation single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis CtrlX Converters series. Classified as a ctrlX DRIVE unit, it interfaces between the AC mains and a synchronous or induction motor, supplying regulated three-phase output while executing motion profiles downloaded from higher-level controllers. By integrating power conversion, safety circuitry, and fieldbus communication in one housing, the device simplifies cabinet layouts for packaging, assembly, and material-processing machines. Its single-axis architecture provides the power and control functions required to regulate motor torque, speed, and position from commands received through the machine network.
During operation, the converter accepts a line supply of 3 × AC 200–500 V with a +10%/−15% tolerance and can deliver up to 54 A of output current to the motor windings. Thermal losses are removed through internal air cooling, which circulates cabinet air across the heat sink. All live parts remain inside an IP20 housing intended for installation within a protected electrical cabinet. Motion and drive processing runs on the ctrlX DRIVEplus control hardware, which hosts the DRIVE Runtime environment and SafeMotion option boards without requiring additional add-on racks. The control hardware processes incoming motion commands and coordinates the converter’s motor-control functions within the same housing as the power electronics.
The power section incorporates an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, allowing regenerated energy to be dissipated locally without an external dump module. Certified functional safety is provided through the Safe Torque Off (STO) channel, which disconnects gate signals within microseconds when commanded by the machine safety PLC. The application software is Version 05 and communicates over EtherCAT (SoE). Additional Multi-Ethernet ports are available for network expansion when the machine architecture requires more communication connections. The converter supports DRIVE Runtime and SafeMotion functions without separate technology applications, reducing the number of external control components needed in the cabinet.
