Product Description:
The XCS2-W0054ARN-02AETM5ECEC-S04RSN3TE1P5NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. As part of the ctrlX DRIVE platform, it forms the power and control bridge between an AC mains supply and a servo or induction motor in automated machinery. The converter is supplied without a motor connector set, allowing the required connection hardware to be selected for the installation. A factory-installed operating panel provides direct access to drive functions, while two multi-encoder interfaces accommodate compatible motor and external feedback devices. Its SafeMotion Position scope provides certified position-related protective functions for controlled operation and emergency stopping.
The power stage accepts a three-phase AC input of 200–500 V, with +10%/-15% tolerance, supporting operation across a broad range of industrial power systems. It delivers up to 54 A of output current through the motor terminals for demanding motion and variable-speed applications. Thermal losses are removed through an internal air channel, eliminating the need for an external heat sink and directing heat away from sensitive control components. The housing has an IP20 protection rating and is intended for installation inside a closed control cabinet. A Multi-Ethernet communication port supports connections to several compatible industrial networks without requiring separate communication hardware. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor absorb regenerated energy during motor deceleration, helping prevent excessive voltage in the DC bus. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so the converter is not subject to an export license restriction based on output frequency.
Control processing is provided by the ctrlX DRIVEplus hardware stack, which operates with the Standard runtime environment and DRIVE Runtime Productivity functions from the current release. This processing platform supports coordinated motor control, application logic, and diagnostic functions within the converter. Real-time fieldbus communication is available through EtherCAT (CoE) when that protocol is selected for the automation network. The installed software is identified as Version 04 (XCS2) and supports the installation and programming of Technology Apps directly on the drive. Functional safety is implemented through SafeMotion (M5), which provides the safety circuit used by the converter’s protective functions. The SafeMotion Position subset monitors position and velocity so the control system can respond when configured movement limits are exceeded. Technology settings can be updated directly through the available communication and feedback interfaces without additional gateway modules.
