Product Description:
The XCS2-W0054ARN-01AETT0NNNN-S05RSN2NNNN0NN is a single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. This Generation 2 unit belongs to the ctrlX DRIVE platform and converts three-phase mains power into regulated motor voltage for one axis. It executes torque, speed, and position commands issued by a PLC or motion controller, supporting coordinated movement in packaging, material-handling, and processing equipment. Its single-axis design combines the power stage and control functions in a compact format intended for installation inside an electrical cabinet.
The converter accepts a 3 × AC 200–500 V supply with a tolerance of +10%/-15%. Its power stage can deliver up to 54 A of peak phase current to the connected motor during demanding acceleration or load changes. Thermal energy is removed through internal air cooling, so an external heat sink is not required. The housing has an IP20 protection rating, which guards against accidental finger contact with live components when the unit is properly installed inside a cabinet. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, eliminating the need for a separate external chopper module. The converter includes a front-panel operator interface for local access to operating information and controls. Motor connectors are not included, allowing the required connector set to be selected for the application.
Network communication is provided by a Multi-Ethernet interface, which supports several real-time industrial Ethernet protocols. The interface natively handles EtherCAT (SoE) messaging for cyclic command, feedback, and diagnostic data exchange with the motion controller. Control calculations run on the ctrlX DRIVE module under the DRIVE Runtime environment. The unit supports Safe Torque Off (STO), which prevents torque-producing motor current when the safety function is activated. SafeMotion readiness allows the applicable motion-safety functions to be enabled when the machine design requires them. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so the converter does not require an export license on that basis. The standard runtime environment is supplied without a preloaded technology function application, leaving application-specific software functions available for separate selection.
