The XCS2-W0054ARN-01AETT0ECNN-S05RSN3NNNN0NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. As part of the ctrlX DRIVE platform, the unit conditions three-phase mains power and supplies regulated power to a connected motor. It supports positioning, speed, and torque control tasks in automated production cells and other industrial motion systems.
The converter accepts a line supply of 3 × AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15%, allowing operation with common 200 V and 480 V industrial power systems without transformer tap changes. Continuous motor output is limited to 54 A, which establishes the required current capacity for connected cables, protective devices, and supporting cabinet components. Heat is removed through internal air cooling, which draws cabinet air across the heat sink without requiring an external blower. The IP20 protection rating guards against accidental contact with hazardous internal parts, but the converter must be installed inside a suitable enclosure. Command and diagnostic data travel through a Multi-Ethernet interface, providing flexible connectivity with compatible automation networks. Deterministic motion communication uses the EtherCAT (CoE) protocol for cyclic control data and device parameter access. Native ctrlX DRIVE control hardware runs the standard runtime environment used for the converter’s motion functions.
Hardware option 1 provides SafeMotion functionality with a basic Safe Torque Off (STO) channel that removes torque-producing energy from the motor when activated. The power stage includes an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor for dissipating regenerative energy produced during motor deceleration. A multi-encoder interface occupies option slot 2, while option slot 3 is not equipped. The converter includes a front-mounted operating panel but is supplied without a motor connector set, allowing the required connectors and cables to be selected for the application. Its maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so the converter does not require an export license based on output frequency. The unit does not include additional technology function applications.
