Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the XCS2-W0054ARN-01AETT0ECNN-S04RSN1NNNN0NN as part of its XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. This second-generation ctrlX DRIVE single-axis converter supplies and regulates servo or induction motors in automated production lines by converting fixed mains power into a controlled, bidirectional output. Used in material-handling, packaging, and assembly stations, the unit combines power electronics, feedback processing, and integrated safety functions to provide precise torque and position control. It also communicates with higher-level motion systems to coordinate movement with other machine axes.
The converter accepts a three-phase mains supply of 3 x AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15%. The power stage rectifies and modulates the incoming power to drive the motor windings, delivering up to 54 A of continuous current. Internal air channels carry heat away from the semiconductor modules, while the IP20 housing is suitable for installation inside a protected control cabinet. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration, reducing the need for external braking hardware. The integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) function prevents torque-producing energy from reaching the motor when the safety circuit is activated. Hardware option 1 adds SafeMotion functions for applications that require additional motion-related safety features.
The converter uses ctrlX DRIVE hardware with the Standard runtime environment and DRIVE Runtime functional scope. The package is supplied as Version 04 (XCS2) and has a current release status. Field connectivity is provided through Multi-Ethernet ports, which support real-time communication channels such as Sercos III for connection to compatible PLC and motion-control systems. Hardware option 2 provides a multi-encoder interface for secondary feedback, while hardware option 3 is not installed. A panel is included for local setup and access to operating information, but a motor connector set is not included. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so the converter does not require an export license based on output frequency.
