Product Description:
The XCS2-W0028FRN-01NETT0NNNN-S06RSN2NNNN0NN is a single-axis converter in the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a Generation 2 device, it conditions incoming mains power and delivers regulated output to a connected motor. This power conversion supports closed-loop speed and position control in industrial automation cells. The single-axis design provides a dedicated power and control stage for machinery that requires accurate motor response during coordinated production sequences.
For network integration, the converter supports Multi-Ethernet connectivity, allowing a controller to use PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or other Ethernet-based fieldbuses without additional communication hardware. A dedicated EtherCAT (SoE) channel provides synchronized drive data exchange for applications that require deterministic messaging. Thermal management relies on internal air cooling, so the control cabinet must provide enough airflow to remove heat generated during operation. The power section includes an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, allowing surplus regenerative energy to be dissipated without an external braking module. The built-in Safe Torque Off (STO) function de-energizes the motor when its enable signal is removed. This safety function helps prevent unintended torque while the machine is stopped or placed in a safe operating state.
The control core uses the ctrlX DRIVE platform, supporting integration with other ctrlX modules in coordinated automation systems. Its software operates in the DRIVE Runtime environment, which provides consistent parameter organization and diagnostic services across the product line. Additional motion monitoring is available through SafeMotion hardware option 1, which supports safe stopping and limited-speed functions. The converter follows the Standard runtime profile and does not include a preloaded technology function application. Its motor connector set and front-panel keypad are omitted, so compatible external connections and software-based parameter access are required. The unit has a maximum output frequency below 599 Hz, placing it in the category that does not require a dual-use export license. The current release status supports use within the corresponding series without requiring a software downgrade for alignment.”
