The XCS2-W0023ARN-02AETM8ECEC-S05RSN3TE1P5NN is a single-axis power converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Classified as a Generation 2 ctrlX DRIVE unit, it conditions three-phase mains power and executes drive algorithms so that one motor receives precisely modulated voltage and current. This function allows pick-and-place actuators, conveyors, and other automated stations to use closed-loop speed and position control without separate power stacks. The converter combines power processing and axis control in a compact unit designed for protected industrial control cabinets.
The power stage accepts a three-phase AC input of 200 to 500 V (+10%/-15%) and delivers up to 23 A of continuous output current. These electrical values support the selection of suitable cabinet fuses and conductors. Internal heat is removed by internal air cooling, while the housing has an IP20 ingress protection rating and must remain inside a protected enclosure. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor dissipate regenerated energy during deceleration without requiring an external resistor bank. The converter includes a front panel but does not include a motor connector set. Both optional hardware slots contain multi-encoder interfaces that accept SSI, BiSS, or resolver feedback. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, allowing operation without an export license related to higher output-frequency capability.
Field communication is provided through a Multi-Ethernet port that carries real-time control and diagnostic traffic. The interface supports EtherCAT (CoE) for cyclic communication with compatible machine controllers. Axis regulation runs on the ctrlX DRIVEplus processor platform and includes the DRIVE Runtime Productivity function set. Integrated SafeMotion (M8) provides the SafeMotion Position scope without requiring external safety relays for the supported functions. The unit also supports the uploading and programming of Technology Apps under XCS2.
