Product Description:
The XCS2-W0023ARN-02AETM5ECNN-S04RSN1NNNN5NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter in the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Classified as a ctrlX DRIVE component, it conditions cabinet-level power for one motor in packaging, material-handling, or assembly cells. The converter closes high-resolution current loops locally while receiving motion commands from an external PLC, allowing it to regulate motor torque and speed during automated operating cycles.
The converter accepts a nominal supply of 3 × AC 200–500 V with a tolerance of +10% to -15%, allowing operation with a broad range of industrial power systems. It delivers up to 23 A of phase current to the motor terminals. Thermal energy is removed through internal air cooling, and the electronics have an IP20 protection rating that requires installation inside a control cabinet. Command and diagnostic data travel over a Multi-Ethernet interface, providing connectivity with compatible industrial control networks. Axis regulation runs on the ctrlX DRIVEplus control hardware, which includes a front panel for local access. Hardware option 2 provides a multi-encoder interface that supports feedback connections for axis control.
The device uses the Standard runtime environment and the DRIVE Runtime functional scope for its drive-control operations. Its firmware identification is Version 04 (XCS2), and fieldbus synchronization is available through the Sercos III protocol. The power section contains an integrated braking transistor and resistor, allowing regenerated energy from decelerating or overhauling loads to be dissipated without a separate brake chopper. Functional safety is provided by SafeMotion M5 with the extended SafeMotion Position profile, which supports certified monitoring of motor speed and position without additional safety relays. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz. A motor connector set is not included with the housing, so the required connection components must be selected for the motor and cable arrangement used in the installation.
