Product Description:
The XCS2-W0023ARN-02AETM5ECEC-S04RSN3TE1N5NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Supplied as a ctrlX DRIVE unit, it provides the power and control interface between an AC mains supply and one servo axis in industrial automation systems. Its single-axis architecture supports precise motor control in production machinery, material-handling equipment, and other applications that require coordinated motion. The compact form factor is intended for installation inside an electrical cabinet, where the converter can be integrated with control, power distribution, and communication equipment.
The power stage accepts a three-phase input of 3 × AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15% and can deliver up to 23 A of motor current. Integrated ctrlX DRIVEplus electronics manage vector control and diagnostic functions for the connected axis. Heat is removed through internal air cooling, so the converter does not require an external blower. The housing has an IP20 degree of protection and is suitable for enclosed installations with controlled exposure to dust and contact. A built-in braking transistor and braking resistor dissipate regenerated energy during motor deceleration without separate braking hardware. The converter includes a front panel for parameter entry and is supplied without a motor connector set, allowing suitable cabling to be selected for the installation. Two multi-encoder interface slots accommodate compatible feedback devices used for position and speed control.
Network connectivity is provided through Multi-Ethernet ports, allowing the converter to communicate with supported industrial control networks. Motion commands and cyclic process data are exchanged through EtherCAT (CoE), which supports synchronized communication with a higher-level controller. Functional safety is provided by SafeMotion Position under the M5 profile, enabling certified position monitoring without external safety relays. The converter operates with the Standard runtime environment and includes the DRIVE Runtime functional scope for motion-control tasks. Version 04 software supports the XCS2 hardware platform and its available drive functions. Technology Apps can be uploaded and programmed through the platform to add application-specific capabilities while retaining the converter’s primary motor-control functions.
