Product Description:
The XCS2-W0023ARN-01AETT0NNNN-S04RSN4NNNN0NN is a single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. As a ctrlX DRIVE Generation 2 device, the module combines control electronics with a power stage to operate one servo or induction motor directly from a control cabinet. It translates commands transmitted over industrial Ethernet into precisely modulated three-phase voltage, providing a compact power interface for motion sequences in automated assembly lines, packaging machines, and material-handling systems. The integrated control architecture supports coordinated regulation of motor torque, speed, and position without requiring a separate axis controller inside the cabinet.
The converter accepts a three-phase supply of 3 × AC 200–500 V, +10%/-15%, making it compatible with a broad range of industrial power networks. Its power stage delivers up to 23 A of motor current for connected servo or induction motors. Communication is handled through a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET IO. The IP20 housing is intended for protected cabinet installation and prevents accidental contact with hazardous internal components. Internal air cooling removes heat from the electronics and power stage during operation. A front panel provides local access to device information, while the motor cabling can be selected to match the installation.
An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor dissipates surplus regenerative energy produced when the connected motor decelerates. The converter includes Safe Torque Off (STO), which prevents torque-producing motor current when the safety function is activated. A separate hardware path supports SafeMotion option 1 for applications requiring additional motion-related safety functions. The software operates in the DRIVE Runtime environment and uses Version 04 (XCS2). Its output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so export control is not required for that operating range. The device uses the ctrlX DRIVE control hardware platform and integrates into compatible single-axis automation systems through its Ethernet-based communication interface.
