Product Description:
The XCS2-W0023ARN-01AETT0NNNN-S04RSN1NNNN0NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Installed between the mains supply and a servo or induction motor, it conditions three-phase power and executes commands from the machine controller. The converter delivers the closed-loop motor control required for positioning, indexing, and coordinated speed regulation in industrial automation. Its single-axis design allows one motor to be controlled independently while exchanging commands and operating data with the larger automation system.
The converter accepts a three-phase input of 200–500 V AC with a tolerance of +10% and −15%. It can supply up to 23 A of continuous output current, making it suitable for medium-power motion axes. Thermal energy is removed through internal air cooling, which circulates cabinet air across the internal heat-producing components. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the unit must be installed inside a suitable control cabinet that prevents exposure to water and restricts access to internal electrical parts. A front panel provides local access for setup and operating checks, while field-selected cables accommodate the required motor connection. Network integration is handled through a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports multiple real-time communication protocols and allows the converter to exchange motion commands, status information, and diagnostic data with the machine controller.
Control functions operate on the ctrlX DRIVE platform with DRIVE Runtime Version 04 and the Standard runtime environment. Hardware Option 1 provides SafeMotion functions, including Safe Torque Off (STO), which prevents the drive from producing motor torque without requiring external power contactors for that safety function. Energy returned during motor deceleration is managed by an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, reducing the need for separately wired braking components in suitable applications. Motion commands and diagnostic information can also be exchanged through SERCOS III communication, providing deterministic real-time data transfer for synchronized machine operation. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, placing the converter outside the export-control threshold stated for this configuration. The functional scope is DRIVE Runtime, which supports the drive-control tasks needed for general-purpose servo and induction motor axes.
