The XCS2-W0023ARN-01AETT0NNNN-S03RSN2NNNN0NN is a single-axis converter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Classified as a Generation 2 ctrlX DRIVE unit, it combines the power electronics and control hardware required to regulate a synchronous or induction motor in industrial automation systems. Its DC-bus power stage and axis-level processing support torque, speed, and position control while maintaining a compact form suitable for cabinet installation in multi-axis machines.
The converter accepts a three-phase supply of 3 × AC 200–500 V, +10%/-15% and can deliver up to 23 A of motor current through its power section. Heat is removed by internal air cooling, which circulates air through the unit to manage thermal loads during operation. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, guarding against contact with hazardous internal components and the entry of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Dynamic energy returned during motor deceleration is dissipated through an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor. A panel interface is included for local access to drive information and settings, but a motor connector set is not supplied. SafeMotion is installed as hardware option 1, providing integrated support for safety-related motion functions.
Multi-network connectivity is provided by the Multi-Ethernet interface, allowing the converter to communicate with supported industrial Ethernet systems. Real-time motion commands are exchanged over EtherCAT with Servo Drive Profile over EtherCAT, also known as SoE, for synchronized axis control. The integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) function prevents the drive from generating motor torque when the safety input is activated. The control software operates with DRIVE Runtime in the Standard environment, supporting the standard functional scope for motion control. The installed release is Version 03 (XCS2), which identifies the software version used by this converter. The maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz, so export licensing is not required for that operating range.
