The XCS2-W0023ARN-01AETT0ECNN-S05RSN2NNNN0NN is a Generation 2 single-axis converter developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis ctrlX Converters series. Built on the ctrlX DRIVE platform, the unit combines a power stage, safety logic, and network interfaces in one housing. It converts three-phase supply power into regulated motor current for precise speed, torque, and position control. The converter is intended to operate a single machine axis in automated production lines and other motion-control applications.
The converter accepts a three-phase AC input from 200 to 500 V (+10%/-15%), allowing the internal rectifier and inverter to operate without an external transformer. It supports continuous motor current of up to 23 A, which must be considered when selecting cables and protective devices. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so the device must be installed inside a suitable cabinet that prevents contact with hazardous electrical parts. Real-time motion commands are transmitted through EtherCAT (SoE), which supports rapid cyclic communication with compatible ctrlX controllers. The integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) function removes torque-producing energy from the motor when the safety circuit is activated. A supplied front panel provides local access to operating parameters and includes status LEDs for monitoring the converter.
A Multi-Ethernet interface allows the converter to communicate over PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and other supported Ethernet-based networks. The multi-encoder interface accepts feedback from resolvers and compatible digital encoders without requiring separate interface modules. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. The unit uses internal air cooling to transfer heat through its internal airflow path without an external heat sink. SafeMotion hardware option 1 is installed, and the unit uses the Standard runtime environment with DRIVE Runtime Version 05 for XCS2 converters. No Technology Function App is installed, and the motor connector set is not included. Option 3 is not installed, while the maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz.
