Product Description:
The XCS2-W0023ARN-01AETT0ECNN-S03RSN2NNNP0NN single-axis converter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis CtrlX Converters series. It belongs to Generation 2 of the ctrlX DRIVE platform and serves as the power section that links a servo or induction motor to the plant’s three-phase supply while executing drive-level safety and motion tasks. Within an automation cell, the converter regulates torque and speed on one axis, forwards feedback to the controller, and accommodates option cards that extend encoder or functional safety coverage without requiring external modules.
The power stage accepts a three-phase supply of 3 × AC 200–500 V, +10%/-15% and can deliver up to 23 A of motor current, making it suitable for mid-range axes such as compact gantries or packaging stations. Thermal losses are removed by an internal air-cooling circuit that draws cabinet air through the heat sink, so no external ducting is required. The housing carries an IP20 rating, providing protection against accidental contact with live parts while requiring installation in a closed electrical cabinet in dusty areas. Motion commands and diagnostics are transmitted through EtherCAT (SoE), allowing real-time velocity control from a PLC while retaining simple cabling through the integrated Multi-Ethernet stack. The standard runtime environment includes DRIVE Runtime Productivity functionality.
Network flexibility extends beyond EtherCAT because the base hardware supports Multi-Ethernet protocols, allowing the converter to use PROFINET or EtherNet/IP with the appropriate software selection. The power section includes an integrated braking transistor and braking resistor, permitting rapid deceleration without an external chopper. Functional safety is provided by the SafeMotion option set, and the primary protection layer is Safe Torque Off (STO), which removes gate signals from the IGBTs when activated. The installed firmware is Version 03 (XCS2) and supports an optional multi-encoder interface for resolver, EnDat, or SERCOS feedback. The third hardware slot is not equipped, and the unit is supplied with a front panel. A motor connector set is not included. The converter does not require an export license and operates without a technology function app.
