The XCS1-W0054ARN-01NETT0NNNN-S02RSN2NNNN0NN is a single-axis converter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XCS Single Axis CtrlX Converters series. Designed as a first-generation converter, it delivers regulated power to one servo or induction motor in an industrial automation cell. The unit combines power electronics, safety circuits, and network interfaces in a compact housing, reducing the number of separate drive components required in the control cabinet. Its control functions support accurate torque, speed, and position regulation for packaging equipment, material-handling systems, and process machinery.
The converter accepts a three-phase mains input of 3 x AC 200 to 500 V, +10%/-15%, allowing connection to both 230 V and 480 V industrial power systems. Its power stage supplies up to 54 A of motor current, providing the capacity needed for rapid acceleration on medium-power axes. Heat is removed through internal air cooling, which directs cabinet air across the heat sink without requiring external ducting. The connectors and covered live parts provide IP20 protection for installation inside a suitable control panel. An integrated braking transistor and braking resistor absorb regenerative energy produced during motor deceleration, removing the need for a separate brake chopper in supported applications. The unit is supplied without a panel or motor connector set. Its maximum output frequency remains below 599 Hz.
Command data and diagnostic information travel over a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports communication with different industrial control networks. The factory configuration uses EtherCAT (SoE) for cyclic setpoint exchange with compatible motion controllers, allowing synchronized communication between the converter and the automation system. Drive logic runs on the ctrlX DRIVE platform with the standard DRIVE Runtime environment. Hardware option 1 enables SafeMotion functions, while the basic safety layer provides Safe Torque Off (STO) to prevent the converter from producing motor torque when the safety function is activated. The configuration does not include technology apps, and hardware options 2 and 3 are not installed. The runtime is provided in Version 02.
