Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s VT1610S3X is a plug-in servo amplifier card within the VT 1600 Servo Amplifiers series. Installed in hydraulic control racks, the card supplies proportional valve coils with a controlled current so that spool movement can be regulated by the PLC. In electro-hydraulic automation, this module converts a command voltage into a stabilized current, allowing closed-loop motion of cylinders and motors that rely on electrical spool feedback. This operating method helps the hydraulic axis respond smoothly to small command changes without requiring a separate external current driver.
The amplifier can source or sink ±60 mA, which matches the coil requirements of many directional valves, and an onboard ammeter with a scale of ±30 divisions mirrors this range for quick visual adjustment. A built-in dither signal of 340 Hz / 3 mAss reduces stick-slip by superimposing a small oscillation on the drive current. Control electronics draw only <200 mA from the cabinet’s 24 V supply, helping keep the overall power demand low. The changeover relay used for the enable/disable function has a coil resistance of 2000 Ω and switches within 1 ms, so valve flow can be interrupted almost instantly when the control logic requires it. Electrical spool feedback is processed on the card to linearize flow characteristics and keep the output centered around zero.
Mechanical layout follows the Eurocard format, and the board width is divided into 7 divisions on the component side and 1 division on the conductor side, with tracks routed on a grid that repeats every 5.08 mm. Field wiring connects through a DIN 41612 Form D, 32-pole connector, which supports orderly integration into modular rack systems. The mounting rails leave clear passage for the integrated ammeter, and conductor spacing supports the output current without arc risk. Despite these features, the assembly weighs only 0.20 kg, which minimizes stress on the rack guides and supports high-density stacking of multiple amplifiers in a single control enclosure.
