Product Description:

The VT1600S311 is a servo amplifier card which strengthens weak control signals and converts them into meaningful electrical energy suitable for controlling motion systems such as motors in a closed loop industrial automation system. It is the design of Bosch Rexroth and it is able to potentially adjust parameters like proportional gain, bias offset or damping directly on the hardware.

The VT1600S311 Servo Amplifier Card is rated to deliver an electrical output that can swing between positive and negative 60 mA or up to 100 mA in either direction. It is tailored to interface with certain legacy or proprietary control modules as it accepts input signals specifically configured for use with UK or VE 102 controller platforms. It includes three manually adjustable internal variable resistors which allows it to fine tune its performance characteristics. It requires dual polarity voltage supplies at ±15 volts and ±24 volts for operation which points to its design for systems that need separate rails for both control and power logic. The module can best maintain stable and noise resistance performance in changing load scenarios. It is functional in environments where the air temperature falls anywhere between 34- and 122-degrees Fahrenheit. It is highly efficient and has a minimal thermal footprint as it keeps its current consumption below 200 mA.

This VT 1600 servo amplifier series card is self sufficient in terms of stabilizing power fluctuations, visually monitoring output current in real time and finely managing dynamic feedback control without requiring external PID modules. Its voltage spans from 12 volts down to negative 10 volts, supports reference signals or feedback circuits and contributes to shaping or limiting signal behavior for stable output.

Frequently Asked Questions about VT1600S311:

Q: What type of motion systems can the VT1600S311 control effectively?

A: It is best suited for closed-loop servo valve applications requiring fine control of position, velocity, or force. Systems like hydraulic actuators benefit from its integrated PID and precision current output.

Q: Can the VT1600S311 operate reliably in a cabinet with poor ventilation?

A: Yes, but only within its rated temperature range and current draw. Excessive heat buildup outside 50°C can compromise signal stability or component longevity.

Q: Why does the amplifier use both ±15V and ±24V supplies?

A: The dual-voltage design separates analog control logic from higher-power output stages. This improves signal integrity and reduces noise susceptibility in precision motion control.

Q: Does the VT1600S311 require external PID controllers?

A: No, it features built-in PID control, adjustable via onboard potentiometers. This simplifies system design and reduces external wiring and configuration complexity.

Q: What effect do the three internal potentiometers have on system behavior?

A: They allow real-time tuning of response characteristics such as gain or damping. This directly affects how smoothly and accurately the system reacts to control signals.
