The VT1600-S-3X is a servo amplifier card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for integration in the VT 1600 Servo Amplifiers series. Installed in closed-loop hydraulic drive systems, the unit conditions command signals and modulates coil current so proportional or servo valves follow reference inputs with repeatable accuracy. By packaging the electronics on a standardized printed-circuit format, the card can be slotted directly into control racks alongside PLC or motion modules. Its rack-mounted layout keeps the control electronics in the same enclosure as companion automation modules, which simplifies signal routing within the cabinet.

The amplifier uses the Euro card format with physical dimensions of 100 × 160 mm. This footprint aligns with DIN 41494 mounting rails and allows high channel density in 19-inch sub-racks. Electrical connections are handled through a 32-pin plug, giving dedicated terminals for power, dither, feedback, and external command signals. Coil modulation is assisted by a dither current of 3 mAPP applied at a dither frequency of 340 Hz; this small sinusoidal component minimizes static friction in the valve spool and improves positioning repeatability at low flow rates. The solder side of the board is limited to 5.08 mm in width so adjacent cards are not shorted, and the total front-panel width occupies 8 HP in the rack.

A front plate height of 128 mm matches standard sub-rack openings, while the supply draws less than 200 mA from the common 24 VDC field bus, easing the load on cabinet power supplies. The internal relay coil has a resistance of 2000 Ω and is rated for a 1 ms duty cycle, enabling rapid switching of valve power without generating excess heat. Unpopulated card areas help hold the mass to 0.15 kg, which reduces mechanical stress on edge connectors during vibration. This compact form also helps the card remain stable in the rack during machine movement.
