The Bosch VT1600-31-E is an industrial servo amplifier. It is specially designed for industrial servo valves. The amplifier requires DC input power supply. The required supply voltage depends on whether the amplifier includes a voltage regulator. If the voltage regulator has been removed, the amplifier requires regulated supply at ±15 Volts DC. If the voltage regulator is present, the supply voltage range is ±22 to ±28 Volts DC. The amplifier draws less than 200 milliamps from the DC power supply. The current delivered by the amplifier is ±60 / ±100 milliamps. The value of the output current is visible on an ammeter mounted on the front panel of the VT1600-31-E amplifier unit. The output current is fed to a torque motor. The torque motor controls the pressure balance of the valve.
The VT1600-31-E is available in a 32-pin plug Euro card design. The amplifier is suited to installation in Euro magazines and card holders. The amplifier has an English face plate. The dimensions of this face plate are 128 x 5 millimeters. Dimensions of the main circuit board are 100 x 160 millimeters. Approximate weight of the amplifier unit is 0.33 pounds. The amplifier includes a relay with a 2000 Ohm coil. Duty cycle of the relay is 1 millisecond and the coil voltage range is 22 to 28 Volts DC. The VT1600-31-E is susceptible to radio frequency interference. Therefore, Bosch recommends separating the amplifier from radios and similar equipment by at least 1 meter. Similarly, all signal wires should be kept at an appropriate distance from power wires. The VT1600-31-E amplifier must be switched off before it is connected or disconnected. Only trained personnel should handle the VT1600-31-E amplifier.
