The VT-1600S3X-1 is a plug-in servo amplifier card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT 1600 Servo Amplifiers series. By integrating a dedicated dither generator and regulated power rails, the card supplies controlled current to valve coils, thereby lowering static friction and improving repeatability in closed-loop motion tasks.

It occupies a card height of 100 mm and a depth of 160 mm, so it matches DIN 41494 sub-rack dimensions without extra spacers. A 32-pin DIN connector provides both power and feedback paths, and the presence of 32 contacts simplifies wiring because coil, reference, and monitor lines land on a single header. For hysteresis reduction, the amplifier injects a dither current of 3 mApp at a frequency of 340 Hz. These values come from the onboard oscillator and help maintain stable valve opening near the dead band. The dither signal repeats every 1 ms, providing fine modulation that does not interfere with system bandwidth. The power section uses installed voltage regulators that provide symmetrical outputs of -15 V and +15 V from the backplane supply while limiting total load to <200 mA. Coil drive is switched through an internal relay whose winding resistance is 2000 Ω, helping limit inrush when switching begins.
