The VT 16005-22 is a servo amplifier card from Bosch Rexroth Indramat, supplied within the VT 1600 Servo Amplifiers series. The board converts low-level command voltages from a controller into proportional coil current for hydraulic or pneumatic actuators used in automated machinery. It mounts in a standardized Euro rack, where it provides precise valve excitation for repeatable motion or pressure control in production equipment. Its card format also allows it to operate alongside other compatible control and amplifier modules in a compact rack assembly.
The card follows IEC 60297 and has a surface area of 100 × 160 mm. It occupies 8 HP of rack width, allowing several modules to be installed within the same enclosure. A brushed aluminum front plate measuring 128 mm in height carries the gain potentiometers, status LEDs, and test sockets used for adjustment and diagnostics. System connections pass through a 32-pin Eurocard plug, which mates directly with the motherboard backplane and reduces the need for loose wiring. To reduce hysteresis in directional control valves, the internal oscillator superimposes a dither signal at 340 Hz on the output current. This frequency is above the hydraulic response band, allowing the signal to move the spool slightly without interfering with its commanded position. The resulting motion helps reduce stick-slip behavior during valve operation.
Output amplitude is adjusted by a constant-amplitude dither source that delivers 3 mApp, balancing spool movement with heat generation in the valve coil. Safety interlock logic on the board controls an onboard relay with a winding resistance of 2000 Ω. The relay contacts complete a changeover within 1 ms, providing a rapid cutoff when an error signal occurs. Despite its integrated oscillator and relay, the card weighs only 0.15 kg, which places little additional load on the rack guides and supporting structure. The low mass also makes the board suitable for densely populated control racks where several cards share the same mechanical support. Gain controls and test points remain accessible from the front of the rack without disturbing the backplane connections.
