The VT 16000-2X-150 servo amplifier is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the VT 1600 Servo Amplifiers series. Designed for electro-hydraulic machine tools and presses, the module converts numerical commands into accurate valve currents so that axis groups follow programmed positions, velocities, and pressures. Its role in industrial automation is to execute closed-loop motion sequences for multiple hydraulic axes under PLC supervision.
Configuration data are loaded with the communication program COM252M, allowing parameter sets to be downloaded, copied, or archived without removing the card from the rack. During operation, the amplifier follows the point-to-point control mode, so each target position is approached directly rather than through interpolated curves. Up to 32 cross-axis cams can be stored, allowing internal cam switching between dependent axes. The hardware can drive 4 hydraulic axes at once, and it accepts as many as four plug-in function modules for additional I/O or analog scaling. The nonvolatile memory holds a maximum NC set list of 2000 blocks, enabling medium-sized part programs to be executed without external refresh.
Position data comply with the DIN 66025 NC standard, permitting direct transfer of tool paths generated by common CAD/CAM post-processors. Axis feedback is processed by the embedded position controller coded PDT1, the pressure controller coded PIDT1, and a synchronization controller that uses a PI algorithm to align slave cylinders with a master signal. Encoder inputs accept analog, incremental, or SSI formats, which broadens sensor choice when refurbishing older stations. For higher-level coordination, the unit communicates with Siemens PLC families S5-115U, S5-135U, S5-155U, and S7-400 through a dedicated interface. The amplifier performs point positioning, pressure regulation, and cam-linked synchronous motion without an external motion card.
