The VT 1600-S-2X is a plug-in servo amplifier card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VT 1600 Servo Amplifiers series. Designed for installation in industrial control racks, the card conditions command and feedback signals so proportional solenoid valves receive accurate current modulation. By controlling valve spool position, the module supports closed-loop pressure or flow regulation in hydraulic automation. Because it follows a standardized footprint, it integrates directly with compatible back-plane connectors in existing motion-control cabinets.
The amplifier is built on a Eurocard printed-circuit format measuring 100 × 160 mm, and its aluminum front plate occupies 8 HP of rack width while rising 128 mm above the guide rails. A keyed 32-pin plug on the rear edge mates with the back-plane, routing supply power, command input, and monitor outputs onto the card. Two selectable output stages deliver ±60 mA or ±100 mA to the proportional solenoid, allowing the same card to drive valves with different coil ratings while drawing no more than <200 mA from the ±15 V system bus. Internal winding compensation matches loads down to 2000 Ω coil resistance, and three onboard potentiometers allow adjustment of gain, dither amplitude, and offset. The design omits an LVDT channel, which simplifies applications that do not require position feedback.
The dynamic response is refined by a dither circuit that injects 3 mAPP of ripple current at 340 Hz, which helps overcome static friction in the spool and improves valve linearity. Logic transistors inside the card switch control signals with a maximum control current of less than 1 mA, and any connected meter must present an input impedance of >100 kOhm to avoid loading the monitor jack. A relay rated for a 1 ms duty cycle handles enable commands, which supports rapid shutdown when faults occur. Overall mass is 0.15 kg, keeping rack loading low while preserving vibration tolerance.
