The VT 11080 is a plug-in servo amplifier card from Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s VT Servo Amplifiers series. Installed in hydraulic or electromechanical drive racks, it scales low-level command voltages from motion controllers into controlled current for proportional valves or small permanent-magnet servomotors. By handling the current loop locally, the module offloads the central PLC and establishes a fast response channel between the feedback device and the power stage, which improves position and force regulation in industrial automation lines.
The analog command port accepts a symmetrical input of ±10 V, and the circuitry is arranged for a differential signal so common-mode noise picked up on long cable runs is rejected. An internal summing stage compares the command with the return signal, which is limited to ±5 V. Drive current is delivered through a push-pull transistor bridge that can supply up to 3.3 A to the connected load. All active electronics are powered from a regulated backplane supply at 24 VDC, keeping dissipation low while providing ample voltage for small servomotors or proportional valve spools.
A bulk reservoir capacitor of 2200 µF sits across the supply rails to smooth sudden changes in load current and maintain control energy during brief bus voltage drops. The logic-level enable line must reach the required activation threshold before the output stage turns on, preventing undervoltage conditions from unintentionally energizing actuators. The module uses a DC supply path, so no internal rectifier is required. It connects directly to the machine’s low-noise, regulated DC power distribution rails.
