The VT-HNC100-2-20-W-16-P-0 digital axis controller is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for closed-loop positioning of hydraulic drives in automated machinery. As a member of the VT-HNC Digital Axis Controllers series, it performs numerical control tasks for hydraulic motion. It translates setpoints from a PLC or HMI into valve commands that govern motion on each configured axis. This allows the controller to manage coordinated movement in machines that rely on proportional or servo-hydraulic actuation.
The controller is supplied as a 2-axis version, enabling independent regulation through synchronized PID loops. Its analog outputs resolve down to 1.25 mV, which allows fine valve command steps that reduce position overshoot. The unit has 16 digital input and output terminals that accept limit switches or emit status bits directly to the machine control logic. For fieldbus integration, a DP Profibus interface transfers real-time data at up to 12 MBaud, while an RS-232 service port supports local setup and diagnostics. Current input stages present 100 Ω ±0.2%, and voltage references see 200 kΩ ±2%, which helps avoid loading external transducers. The electronics draw only 8 W, which helps minimize heat generation inside the cabinet.
Program code, parameter sets, and motion profiles are stored in 1 MB of flash EPROM backed by 256 KB of battery-free RAM, and an additional 8 KB of EEPROM retains calibration constants. With a mass of 1.2 kg and a housing footprint of 106.5 x 155 x 204 mm, the unit mounts directly to a panel without a DIN rail adapter. Wall mounting positions the connectors for straightforward daisy-chain wiring to the fieldbus trunk. The design omits internal evaluation electronics for inductive position sensors, so that function is handled by external amplifiers. It is also supplied without an integrated sensor, allowing LVDTs or SSI encoders to be selected for the target cylinders.
