Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the VT-HNC100-1-3X-N-I-00-000 digital axis controller within the VT-HNC Digital Axis Controllers series. This model belongs to component series 3 and is configured for one hydraulic axis, allowing closed-loop position and force control on single-cylinder drives. Intended as a compact DIN-rail device, it performs numerical control tasks where a free-standing servo drive is not required. The unit is supplied without a bus connection, so field communication relies on its integrated Ethernet port, and it operates as part of the HNC100 digital NC platform across diverse automation cells.

The controller exchanges cyclic data blocks of 992 bytes through PROFINET, completing each update in 2 ms while maintaining an Ethernet throughput of 100 Mbit/s for diagnostics and parameter exchange. Eleven discrete terminals give the application 11 digital I/O points, and two analog channels accept a current range of 4–20 mA or a voltage signal up to ±12 V. The unit accepts incremental encoders up to 250 kHz, and SSI transmitters can be read at 28 bit resolution. Inductive position sensors are not supported on this version. A reference voltage of +10 V ±25 mV is provided for external potentiometers or sensor excitation.

The enclosure measures 120 x 71 x 124 mm, which supports dense cabinet layouts, and its IP20 protection class requires installation inside a closed electrical panel. Continuous operation is rated for ambient temperatures from 0 to 50 °C, while storage is permitted between −20 and +70 °C. Internally, the logic electronics run from a filtered supply of 18-30 VDC, and the ±10 V command outputs drive proportional amplifiers on the hydraulic axis. The compact housing also leaves room for nearby interface modules and related control hardware in the same cabinet.
