The VT-HNC100-1-1X-220 digital axis controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-HNC Digital Axis Controllers series within the HNC100 digital NC control platform. It is configured for one hydraulic axis, allowing position or pressure loops to close for a single cylinder without a separate motion card. In presses, casting machines, or injection units, the controller generates setpoint commands and evaluates feedback signals so the axis follows the programmed NC path.
As a Series 1 component, the module offers analog connectivity matched to typical transducers. Its differential current inputs accept signals in the 4 to 20 mA range, and there are 4 current inputs available for sensors such as pressure transmitters. Actuator commands can be issued on 2 current outputs in the same range to drive proportional valves. For voltage-based devices, the controller provides an input window of ±10 V and routes setpoints to 4 voltage outputs, enabling simultaneous management of servo valves, LVDTs, or position encoders. These channels reduce the need for external signal conditioning and keep wiring straightforward. The specified operating temperature window from 0 to 50 °C maintains full accuracy across normal machine-room environments.
Internally, a 16/32-bit MC68376 microcontroller executes the closed-loop algorithms while communicating diagnostics through the 9.6 kbaud RS-232 service port. Program code and parameter tables reside in 1 MB Flash EPROM, while an additional 8 KB EEPROM stores device-specific calibration data. Working buffers use 256 KB RAM, giving the axis enough space for interpolation and error logging. The controller is powered from 18 to 36 VDC and draws only 8 W, so heat generation remains modest. Four dedicated voltage inputs also capture reference or feedback signals from potentiometers or LVDTs.
