The VT-HNC100-1-13-134 digital axis controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-HNC Digital Axis Controllers series within the Digital NC Control HNC100 product line. It serves as a dedicated motion processor that closes hydraulic position and force loops through onboard analog and encoder interfaces. In industrial automation, the device governs spool valves and feedback transducers so that a single hydraulic axis follows programmed trajectories with high precision, reducing the need for separate amplifier cards. Through parameter files, the controller can be adapted to presses, injection machines, or dynamic test rigs without rewiring, and its compact Eurocard layout supports direct mounting in a 19-inch rack.
Hardware from component series 1 is tuned for hydraulic dynamics. The 1 hydraulic axis version dedicates all resources to one motion channel. Analog current feedback is read through a 100 Ω ±0.2% input resistance with 5 µA resolution, while voltage feedback enters a 200 kΩ ±2% circuit that resolves down to 5 mV per step. The differential reference of ±10 V ±25 mV supports noise-resistant command scaling. After processing, the controller drives actuating electronics with 1.25 mV output granularity and limits ripple to ±60 mV to keep spool movements repeatable. Quadrature encoders are accepted up to 250 kHz, high-impedance inputs exceed 10 MΩ, and the voltage outputs can source or sink ±10 mA for standard valve coils.
A 16/32-bit MC68376 CPU executes control loops directly from 1 MB of flash, while transient variables reside in 256 KB of RAM and parameters are safeguarded in EEPROM. Typical cabinet draw is 8 W, which supports convection cooling in standard enclosures. The RS-232 service port operates at 9.6 KBaud, and additional fieldbus options share the same backplane connector. Output ripple remains within the earlier limit, so proportional valves receive stable drive signals even when bus traffic is heavy. Nonvolatile storage is also provided by 8 KB of EEPROM for retained parameter data.
