The VT-HNC100-1-11-110 digital axis controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-HNC Digital Axis Controllers series and is part of the Digital NC control HNC100 platform. It supervises proportional or servo valves on hydraulic machinery by receiving motion commands from a PLC and generating synchronized analog and current signals for a single axis. Used in presses, test rigs, and general automation, it brings dedicated closed-loop control closer to the hydraulic actuator and unloads the central PLC.
In component series 1, the controller is preset for 1 hydraulic axis, so one closed-loop channel occupies its four differential analog input paths. A 16/32-bit MC68376 microprocessor executes the motion kernel while managing parameter sets held in 1 MB of flash and runtime buffers located in 256 KB of RAM. The incremental encoder interface accepts signals up to 250 kHz, providing headroom for high-resolution feedback devices. Serial diagnostics and parameter downloads use the RS-232 port at 9.6 KBaud. The four voltage inputs are digitized with 5 mV steps, and each of the four voltage outputs can source ±10 mA into at least a 1 kΩ load. Current feedback inputs resolve 5 µA, enabling precise monitoring of valve coil currents and improving proportional valve linearity.
Current feedback accuracy also depends on the termination values used in the analog stages: the analog current input path presents 100 Ω with 0.2% tolerance, the voltage input path is buffered by 200 kΩ within 2%, and the current command output remains linear provided the driven load does not exceed 500 Ω. A stable internal reference of ±10 V with a tolerance of ±25 mV supports consistent analog signaling with external drive electronics. Overall controller demand on the 24 V rail is limited to 8 W, which simplifies thermal management in compact control panels.
