The VT 5041-3X/1-0 is an input/output interface card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. The board plugs into a standardized rack and regulates proportional valve coils, while returning diagnostic signals to higher-level controllers in hydraulic automation systems. By integrating current limiting, oscillator generation, and signal scaling on one card, it simplifies cabinet wiring and reduces the amount of low-level analog processing handled by the machine PLC in press, molding, and metal-forming equipment.

The card accepts a nominal supply of 24 V DC, and an internal regulator supports stable operation down to 18 V while an upper limit of 35 V helps protect the unit from overvoltage transients. During demanding motion cycles, total board consumption can rise to 1.25 A, while routine operation typically draws less current. Each proportional channel can deliver up to 2.5 A of coil current, so large NG10 valve solenoids can be driven without external amplifiers. A crystal-controlled oscillator at 5.4 kHz provides the carrier for pulse-width modulation, which helps reduce coil hysteresis during control operation. System wiring terminates through a 32-pin DIN 41612 D header that mates with standard Eurocard backplane connectors.

The board occupies a 100 × 160 mm Eurocard slot and uses a front panel that is 128.4 mm high and 5 TE wide, leaving room for test jacks and potentiometers while preserving a conductor width of 1 TE on the backplane. Diagnostic test point Dm2 provides a calibrated amplitude of 3.6 V, and the Iw9 monitor point is referenced at 1 V for quick current checks with a multimeter. An auxiliary output can source up to 10 mA to operate LEDs or small transducers without loading the main control loop.
