Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the VT 5041-31/2-0 as part of the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. The board serves as a plug-in module for valve control racks, translating low-level command or feedback signals into currents that drive hydraulic solenoids or feed logic controllers. Its circuitry combines oscillator generation, pulse shaping, and overcurrent protection so that analog and switching inputs can pass through a single card instead of separate signal-conditioning blocks.
The printed circuit board measures 100 × 160 mm, while the populated component field occupies 7 TE of rack space; a 128.4 mm aluminum front plate carries test points and status LEDs. All field and backplane conductors terminate on a 32-pin DIN 41612 D connector, allowing the card to slide into standard Eurocard frames without custom wiring. Nominal operating power is drawn from a 24 V DC rail, and the design accepts voltage excursions from 21 V to 35 V. Internal electronics draw 0.6 A during steady-state operation, helping keep the thermal rise low for the 0.21 kg assembly. The physical layout and ground planes support a solenoid output load resistance of 2 Ω, helping maintain predictable current regulation as the line voltage and temperature change.
The modulation section operates an onboard oscillator at 5.4 kHz. This switching frequency is above the mechanical response range of most proportional pilot stages, minimizing audible noise while preserving response speed. Command channel Dm2 is limited to a peak amplitude of 3.6 V, and feedback channel Iw9 is limited to 1 V, preventing excessive signals from reaching subsequent comparators. When the control loop calls for full energization, the driver can supply up to 2.5 A of solenoid current. This output capacity enables direct actuation of two-stage hydraulic valves without separate booster amplifiers.
