The VT-5041-30/3-0 is an I/O interface card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. Installed in a PLC rack, the board conditions control signals and drives hydraulic valve solenoids, allowing machine controllers to switch loads directly from a standard 24 V supply without separate relay assemblies. Its Eurocard format allows it to slide into common 3 U subracks used throughout industrial automation cabinets. This arrangement supports compact installation alongside other control and signal-processing cards.
The card is powered from a nominal 24 V DC rail and produces a switching waveform through an internal oscillator operating at 5.4 kHz. This frequency limits audible noise in proportional valves while keeping current ripple low. A dedicated output path can supply up to 2.5 A of solenoid current, providing sufficient drive for most direct-acting hydraulic coils. The board measures 100 × 160 mm, matching IEC 60297 board guides. All process and power lines are routed through a 32-pin DIN 41612 D backplane connector for connection within a multi-card assembly.
The board occupies a rack width of 7 TE, allowing its required slot spacing to be calculated precisely. Its overall mass is 0.21 kg, which minimizes strain on card retainers and simplifies handling. During transient overloads, the PCB traces tolerate a peak of 1.25 A above the rated current draw, and protective circuitry maintains stable operation until the backplane fuse trips. Supply excursions are permitted up to 35 V, while the control logic remains active down to 21 V; outside this range, the outputs are inhibited. Load resistance at the driven terminals is 2 Ω, and the socket-sensing resistance is 2 kΩ. The auxiliary and message channels provide 10 mA and 20 mA, respectively, to support indicator lamps or status transducers without additional wiring.
