Product Description:
The VT 5041-25/1-3D is an output driver card developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for proportional valve actuation inside modular control racks. Belonging to the VT-5000 IO Cards series, the module plugs into a backplane and delivers controlled current to directional or pressure-control solenoids in industrial automation systems. Pulse-width modulation and onboard amplification allow the card to interface PLC logic signals with the inductive loads of hydraulic valves without requiring a separate power amplifier.
The card accepts a nominal supply of 24 V DC, and its circuitry remains functional at voltages as low as 21 V. Overvoltage protection supports an input of up to 35 V. During typical operation, the board draws a continuous current of 0.6 A, while transient demand can rise to 1.25 A when the connected valve starts. Total power consumption is limited to 35 VA, which helps prevent excessive loading of the cabinet power supply when multiple cards are installed. An internal 5 kHz oscillator controls the output stage, while a driver amplitude of 10 V sets the modulation depth supplied to the solenoid coil. The card can operate at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C, making it suitable for common machine-room conditions.
The board measures 100 × 160 mm, occupies a 5 TE slot, and connects through a 32-pin DIN 41612 form D connector. This plug-in arrangement allows the card to be removed from its modular rack without disturbing adjacent wiring. Line protection is provided by a 1.6 A time-delay fuse, which opens the circuit before upstream conductors overheat during an electrical fault. On the load side, the current regulator can supply up to 2.5 A to a valve coil with a resistance of 2 Ω, allowing the card to drive high-force proportional solenoids without external boosters. The card weighs 0.19 kg, limiting the additional mass placed on the rack while supporting installation in compact machine enclosures.
