The VT 5041-24/1-3D is an input/output signal conditioning card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for its VT-5000 IO Cards series. Installed in 19-inch rack controllers, the module filters, scales, and distributes analog sensor and solenoid currents so a central control system can manage hydraulic valves and position transducers. By delivering stable reference power and monitoring return signals through onboard shunts, the card allows machine PLCs to supervise spool position, stroke feedback, and coil current without requiring discrete wiring or external signal converters. This arrangement centralizes several analog control functions within a single rack-mounted module and reduces the number of separate components needed around the hydraulic control system.
The nominal supply for the card is 24 V DC, so cabinet power buses connected to safety relays can feed it directly. The circuitry remains functional at voltages as low as 21 V and withstands peaks up to 35 V, preventing nuisance trips during brownouts or regenerative events. A pulse-width-modulated driver can deliver up to 2.5 A to a proportional solenoid, while internal sense resistors monitor the current loop in real time. All field and backplane signals pass through a 32-pin DIN 41612 Design D connector, so the card can be removed without disturbing adjacent wiring. A stabilized auxiliary rail supplies 10 mA for sensor excitation or reference generation, giving connected transducers a fixed bias that remains independent of external load changes. The compact format preserves cabinet space for neighboring control modules while keeping the field connections organized at a single interface. Sensor excitation remains stable as the proportional solenoid load changes, helping the connected control system maintain consistent analog measurements.
