Product Description:
The VT 5041-23/3-0D is an input-output card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. Installed in a rack next to proportional valve amplifiers or motion controllers, the board conditions command and feedback signals so a PLC can actuate hydraulic solenoids with repeatable accuracy. Its 24 V logic domain aligns with standard machine power supplies, allowing the card to serve as a protected interface between low-level process control and field devices in industrial automation.
The card operates from a 24 V DC bus, while internal regulators keep it active between the system’s lower limit of 21 V and upper limit of 35 V. A built-in driver stage can supply up to 2.5 A for each connected solenoid, supporting direct energization of medium-sized hydraulic coils without external boosters. Signal timing is referenced to an internal oscillator that runs at 5.4 kHz; this is the pulse-width modulation frequency applied to the coil windings and helps limit audible noise. Field wiring terminates on a backplane connector built to the DIN 41612 Design D pattern, and the logic map distributes functions across 32 pins to support diagnostics. Two monitoring outputs are available for checking modulation signals. The Dm2 test point carries an amplitude of 3.6 V, while the Iw9 node provides a span of 1 V.
The physical format follows Eurocard conventions, measuring 100 × 160 mm and occupying a module width of 7 TE inside the subrack. A separate analog supply of ±15 V powers the comparators that shape coil current, isolating them from switching noise. Heat generation is minimal, and the assembly weighs only 0.21 kg, making the card easier to handle when sockets require service. A front plate measuring 128.4 mm high provides uniform alignment with adjacent cards. The socket has a resistance of 2 kΩ, which helps maintain signal integrity across long ribbon cables.
