Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the VT 5040 S32. The Bosch Rexroth Indramat VT 5040 S32 IO card runs on 24 VDC and is designed for industrial automation. Compatibility with standard industrial power distribution networks depends on this voltage. Standard industrial power distribution networks depend on this voltage. Nevertheless, the card can handle large voltage swings, +40% to -5%. This means 21.6 to 33.6V. This is necessary to ensure the card runs even with power supply fluctuations and to keep running with the inherent voltage instability in industrial environments. The card can be damaged if the voltage is exceeded since the upper and lower limits are 35V and 21 to 22V, respectively.
The VT 5040 S32 is also designed to be power efficient, less than 50 VA and less than 2A. This low current consumption is important to minimize heat generation and total energy costs in the automation system. High-speed signal processing is possible with the card’s self-clocking frequency that can reach up to 1.5 kHz.
