Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the VT 5024-17b. The card is compatible with typical industrial power supplies where variations are common by this voltage range. The card can operate without harm within the strict limits of 35 V top and 21 V bottom. These limits are to preserve the integrity of the integrated circuits and prevent thermal runaway which can occur when there is a high current due to voltage spikes. The power required for the card’s internal operations and signal processing is reflected in its current consumption of 0.6 A with a max of 1.25 A. The power dissipation of the card is closely related to its current consumption and must be controlled to avoid overheating and ensure stability. For accurate control, the input signal parameters for swivel angle and pressure commands are crucial. With an input resistance greater than 50 kΩ, the pressure command input (psoll) and swivel angle command input (swsoll) both work in the 0 to 10 V range.
Bidirectional control is possible by the ±10 V range for the swivel angle real input (swist), which is required for applications that need precise placement. Closed loop control is possible by the analog real value input for pressure (pist). The output stage is used to drive hydraulic valves and other electromechanical devices since it drives solenoid currents between 1.8 A and 2.2 A. The output signal’s rate of change is determined by the ramp time, which can be 30 ms to 1 s or 5 s.
